Style Warrior Collection

I’m sooo excited for the Syle Warrior collection. Aside from the fact that I have a super soft spot for packaging - and these babies are GORGEOUS, Im a NC40 and I really see these colors working amazingly well with my complexion :] The Eversun blush is already a must for me (peach and gold!), but the skin sheen and lustre drops are drool worthy! and the Solar bits - I mean c'mon the name is enough to make me reach for one…in Scatterrays to be exact :] I can't wait! This collection is going to do some damage to my wallet, lol.

The collection drops May 21st! It's not for another few weeks, so that gives me more than enough time to stash some dough.

mac piggies

YAY!! My Mac pigments came in!! Well, they actually came in yesterday but my aunt flow came in and man was she a bitch. I had two 3hr classes, then work and by the time I came home all I wanted to do was take some Tylenol and lie down =\
However I'm feeling much better today and am in a great mood and have copious amounts of energy that seriously came out of nowhere! So I’m capitalizing on my newfound energy and multitasking: Homework, chatting on AIM, texting, catching up reading blogs and uploading some new images onto my Deviant art page :]

So without further ado, here are my little babies that came in:

(Flash)

From Top left: Rose Gold Frost, Naked, Jardin Aires, Electric Coral, Melon and Basic Red.

Swatches!

From left: Rose Gold Frost, Naked, Jardin Aires, Electric Coral, Melon and Basic Red.

I can already say I’m getting a full size of Melon, Rose Gold and Jardin Aires. I love these samples! They are a perfect way to get colors you know you won’t be able to finish, or you know you won’t be using too often; as the sample amount would last quite awhile. And for around two bucks a pop these aren’t bad at all!

I’d say get a friend and split the shipping if you can. Me and a friend are doing that - I just got these and I’m already ordering more! lol I can't help myself! After this next order, no more! Im going to go on Lolipop26's Project 10 pan make-up diet. Gotta save for the Style Warroir collection! :]

Revlon Creme Gloss Review

I recently purchased two Revlon Crème Gloss lippies at my local CVS on while I was on break in between classes. I mainly noticed these at first because of the fact that they were on bogo (lol). These are new to the Revlon line so I guess the Bogo deal was an incentive to get people to try them out. Well it worked, as I picked up two to give them a try! The next thing I noticed was the striking similarities in packing between these and Chanel’s crème lumière glosses.

Don’t they basically the same?! The only real difference if the position of the gold stripe, as far as packing is concerned. But I picked up Hot Tamale and Patent Leather Pink – kept in the safe pinky/coral zone for the try out, lol.

(Patent Leather Pink on top and Hot Tamale on bottom)

I don’t usually gravitate towards lippies like this because I’m really not a fan on click dispensing type lippies, they usually come across as cheepy to me. Also, they are usually hard to control; you end up clicking all day and getting next to nothing - then next time you click twice and you get a mess… I’ll admit I was enticed at first since Chanel advertises there as,

“A hybrid of gloss and lipstick, chic colour and intense shine combine for creamy, full coverage that feels soft and lightweight on lips."

OoOooO right?? That’s what I thought :] However the fact that it was a click dispenser (cheepy feeling) made me think twice about spending $35 on one.

However after picking up these Revlon babies at about $11 for both, including tax I was ready to get home and play with them. As they describe them,

“The next-generation in lip gloss with both full-coverage color and extreme gloss shine. Collagen complex and light reflecting particles give lips a fuller appearance. Vitamin E and collagen condition for ultra-soft lips. Unique flow-through brush offers smooth, even application. Available in 15 deeply pigmented, high gloss shades.”

These really impressed me, I didn’t know much about them until I tried them myself but when I got home and looked on MUA I noticed some people had some negative experiences with them. I don’t think they are drying whatsoever, it’s by no means a lip conditioner or moisturizer but I wasn’t left with dry lips after the color wore off. The gloss actually went on smooth, although it did take some working and layering to get it on evenly. The color you see through the tube is the color you get, I loved that one simple fact! Once dried I was left over with some pieces of sparkles, and I hate leftover sparkles! But they weren’t big slutty looking ones and were easily rubbed off.

Pros:
Cheep ($9-$11 Depending where you go, but look out for BOGO’s!)
Easily accessible
Good range of colors
Both Matte and Shimmer types available
Good pigmentation

Cons:
Some sparkles left behind
Click dispensing (Although some do like/prefer this type of packaging)

Would you buy again?
If I see them on Bogo I wouldn’t hesitate to pick up a few more shades. All and all I like these lippies and once you can get the dispensing down to a science they clicking really Isn’t all that bad. The pigmentation is great – now I’m really curious to try a Chanel one!

Kings of Leon!

I went to go see the Kings of Leon on Friday night with the BF and Janella. It was sooo much fun! we met up with Janella's brother at the concert who already has his spot close to the stage, so we made our way through the crowd to get to our spot :]

They are soo good live! they atmosphere was so laid back and chill, as is there music. Too bad im not even 21 yet! Sheesh, only a few more months! A cold beer would have topped off the occasion nicely ;] At any rate I had so much fun and was happy that the Patriot center had General admission as well as seats. I hate sitting in seats! I'd much rather shell out the extra cash for a free for all and some up close looks of the band.

They also had a great light show that accompanied some of the songs. And the big screens were so awesome, I wonder who does there sets... the music and video footage was paired so well!

I love concerts! It had been a few months since my last show, so it was nice to take a break from just clubbing and get out to see an actual show with no freak dancing! Lol! The only thing that was kind of a bummer was that I only had my digi cam with me. I couldn't bring along my SLR, so I couldn't get and decent images... but I did manage to get much clearer video, peep that below, haha :]

Playing Hookey

I've kind of always had a "case of the Mondays" (lol) The fact that I had a test as well as a project due definitely didn't help make my day any better... on top of that, I was super late to my 1st class. A trip that should really only take about 15min (which is does, any time after the usual morning rush hr, typical rush hour commute is about 35min) an 1hr 15min!! I was soooo upset I just turned around and took the next exit!

on the way back home..haha

My boyfriend usually drives me to school on Mondays and Wednesdays so I can skip paying for metro fare ;] Plus it’s his only day off so it works well for me! He's so sweet :] We went to his house so that he could get dressed and we could go out and make it a productive skip day!

Some boys brush there hair :]

So we went out to get a bite to eat after some vegging out on the couch and watching TiVo-ed TV! We stuffed ourselves with some pretty unhealthy food...but it is our last day eating out, only house food, as were trying to tone up for the summer. We've both lost quite a bit of weight over the winter. Were in our plateau...Time to hit the gym again!

Ultimate damage! Yum!

After a small siesta we trekked over to MD for some Dave & Busters action! The first time we went to the D&B at white flint was on a Saturday and it was soooo packed! We only got to play a handful of games, it was really irritating. However i was pleasantly surprised this time around, we even wandered around the mall and they had some good stores. I was most interested in the Bloomies and Lord & Taylor… But I'm holding out until the rose romance collection :] I did get a few things, but I’ll save that post for another say since this one is already longer than I had planned for it to be!

Lake

Went to D.C. for an independant exhibit review for my Photo. class yesterday. I had to crunch for time though because it took the damn train an HOUR to get to the smithsonian stop and Janella had to be at work by 4. Ugh =/ should have drove... Did have fun though - went with janella and walked around enjoying the nice day. Took the usual pictures of the white house and the Washington Monument A.K.A. "The Pencil"...

Janella bought a jamaican empana from the on the Fly carts. I say save ur money and go for the hot dog, there all beef unlike the other cart vendors and at least you'll know what they taste like! Apparenty the empanada wasnt that good =/. We're going back on Sunday - hopefully later in the afternoon so i can get some sunset/night images.

Once i got home me brother, the hubby and I decided to go to Fuddruckers, it was packed with shoobies from Ohio! lol! Luckily there was a booth open and it just so happened to be the Washington D.C. booth! Yay Pandas! I didnt have my digi cam on me though so no pics. Dangit!

After Fuddruckers we were stuffed and decided to walk our food off by going to the lake right around the corner from my house... we stopped and picked up the pooch for a walk as well :] I love our lake, perfect dog trails, seams like your in the middle of nowhere when your out there.

Today is a nice day as well (Finally two nice days! Its is spring right?!)... going for a bike ride with my brother after work! Update later ;]

"Stars Sans Fards"

I saw this link on yahoo… great article! I wish we would do more things like this, its so empowering guess Americans don't do it so much because we're always proclaiming natural beauty but our standard of what beautiful is, is so far for the vast majority that we're not comfortable revealing ourselves to such a critical audience. Even Jessica Alba was horribly photoshopped to make her "look more aesthetically pleasing" - and she’s gorgeous! Just as the article says, usually when we see "stars without make up" as a headline its usually a negative pictorial.. This is so refreshing - No makeup. No Photoshop. No bull! Just lovely ladies :]

Goodies!

Yay! So I went online and found a nearby target that had the Soap & Glory Glow Lotion I was lemming for :] Ahh, I was so excited!! It smells sooo good and the sheen that it leaves behind is just perfect! The lotion isn’t overly blingly or sparkly, no big cheepy looking sparkles, just a subtle sheen made up of tiny peachy pink flecks. I’ve tried other shimmer lotions but with this cute packaging (Hey, I am perusing my Graphic arts degree to go into product packaging!) tiny peachy-pink flecks and a delightful fragrance makes this me new Spring/Summer Staple.

I also got some other goodies… a super cute eco friendly - recycled make-up bag by Contents, some adorable hello kitty band-aids (not pictured), Mac concealer, & back up of UDPP which I’m kind of upset I got now, since their Friends and Family discount is going on but no biggie. Oh, and I want the black train case, so cute!!

LOVE this stuff.

How cute :] Remember to recycle!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And you know I couldn't resist picking up something for my pup either. I love my abby :] Check out this cute video of her enjoying her yummy treat!

Lol! She had some issues with the ice cream on the aluminum, so we put it in a bowl for her, but she still pushed that around! My brother then wedged the bowl under one of my desk drawers - haha! She's so cute ^_^

Great Deals!

Today was so hectic! It was the first day of the semester so I was running around trying to take care of holds so I could get my schedule. I don't understand why we have to clear holds and get our schedules the same day! Um, I have an 8 o'clock class, which means I have to catch the train by at least 6:30 to give myself a 30min cushion to take care of holds.. Which means I have to be up by at least 5:30 to get ready! Ahh! Then work, which is never that bad but the salon was so busy for a Monday plus the fact that we're putting in a new door - so the construction noise was soooo annoying! I just wanted to take a nap :[

On the plus side I did get to have a mid-day-at-work-drink ;]  If I'm going to be making them for the clients I have to know how they taste right?

Working at a salon has its perks besides just beauty stuff. My boss stocks a bunch or delicious drinks and liquors for our clients, so more "Drinks-of-the-Day" to come, haha.

This one is a simple Galliano Orange :]

One part Galliano
Two parts Pure Orange Juice
(any no pulp brand will do)
Ice & Enjoy!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As tired as I was I wanted a little pick me up, so me and the hubby decided to go to TJMaxx to see if we could find anything good. Man, I found some great deals! A cute grey dress that will pair nicely with a wide vera wang belt I already have cinched at the waist (will upload pics when I wear it!) The dress was originaly priced at $100 and they marked it down quite a few times, so I ended up getting it for $15! I also found this cute single button blazer for $5 my total was just $22 bucks. I honestly went in with the intentions if getting some heels or something but these were the only things that caught my eye and $20 bucks for both is such a steal.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And lastly... I went to target to check out if there was anything that caught my eye, and there was this body glow by Soap & Glory that I fell in love with and just HAD to have. The scent was amazing and there was a touch of shimmer for highlight. Perfect for shoulders or legs in the summer :] Long story short they were all out, and wouldn’t even sell me the tester! Ugh. Semi-Jokingly I said "This sucks, you guys will probably just throw it away" and the associate went on to say, in a rude tone - "Yea, I’m going to throw it away right now". Great, so you’re going to throw away a full bottle of product that I wanted to purchase! :,[ So tomorrow I’m going to serchTarget.com to see if another store nearby has it in stock *crosses fingers* Hopefully!

NYX Haul

I got my NYX lippies today in the mail from Cherry Culture! As a first time buyer I’m glad to say the shipping was speedy, which is great for me because I have NO patience =/ haha. So I got it and did my first lip swatches! I’m still getting used to take pictures of myself and editing them, so bare with me :]

Lippies! (Left to Right: Sierra, Earth Angel, B-52. Round Glosses: Natural, Chocolate Moose, Cafe Latte, Apricot & Whipped)
Some lip Swatches :]

And the round glosses!

I can agree with all the posts I’ve read on MUA regarding NYX lippies. These go on smooth, and last quite awhile. Considering these were only $2 a pop, and come in 144 shades, I WILL be getting more. My fave. so far is Indian Pink - sooo gorgeous! It wasn't a part of this haul but I will take a photo of it and post it, it’s so lovely!

The Round glosses are super cute too, Natural is just that! it goes perfect for a nice neutral look, I love it! One thing I will say is that the MUA reviews are dead on! These really do smell like some sort of uber lemony cleaning product.. It’s not horrendous but they could have really left that out! lol. for $3 I can learn to cope ;]
